How to prevent penetrating damp

nullPenetrating damp is a big problem if not taken care on time. If water is allowed to seep in through the walls and structures of the property due to construction errors, it causes great problems. Moss is formed around it, plaster may crumble and watermarks start to appear. One serious impact of penetrating damp is loss of heat, besides many other issues. So it is important that you address the problem as soon as you see it.

You can prevent penetrating damp if you:

Check channels below the window seals if they are free to let the rainwater drop off. In case cement or moss has blocked it, clean it to make a free passage of water.

Check down pipes, window frames, and gutters regularly to see if there are any cracks or obstructions in them.

Replace any broken guttering as soon as they appear. This will help you prevent and treat penetrating damp.
